OptSim

OptSim is a simulation engine that can be embedded into application software.  It provides user-friendly software to customers to implement their own simulation using distributions created and managed by OptSim.  Using both OptSim and OptQuest, users have the tools to build a simulation optimization application designed for their needs.

OptSim is especially designed to be used in Monte Carlo simulation and Project Portfolio applications. Users can create different distributions, correlate those distributions, and then use those distributions in their simulations.  Users can spend time on their particular application rather than on writing software to create the distributions required to implement their simulation.

OptSim provides tools to examine the outputs of the simulation. A close examination of the correlations between outputs and  inputs  allows users to analyze the simulation model to better understand the relationships between decisions and  results.  Users can build interfaces to support the relationship information.

OptSim provides feedback for efficient simulations. Confidence testing feedback stops the simulation if the outputs have stopped fluctuating and have converged.  This feedback allows the simulation to stop early providing for the most efficient use of computational resources.  Efficiency is extremely important when performing simulation optimization.

The OptSim Engine is available for .NET for Windows and Java for all platforms. The OptSim Engine is a pure object oriented version available in Microsoft's .NET environment, using C#, VB.net, or any of the .NET programming languages. It is also available as pure Java classes that are platform independent.

If you would like a demonstration copy of any of our software (except OptForce, which is still in development), please email us at OptInfo@OptTek.com. Please tell us a little about your optimization problem and tell us what programming language and platform you are using for your development.
